For days now, the #Nopetegui hashtag has gone viral among AC Milan fans. It is to express their opinion: Julen Lopetegui is not welcome.
The Spanish coach, identified by the management as a possible replacement for Stefano Pioli, has not yet dispelled all the doubts of the club. In fact, there are other coaches noted down, but certainly the former Real Madrid manager has the agreement of everyone in the Furlani-Moncada-Ibrahimovic management line, as per the Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
As known, several contacts have been made between Milan and Lopetegui, even direct ones, to discuss the potential three-year contract worth 4 million euros net per season.
Besides that, Gerry Cardinale has also been informed: the dissent of the Rossoneri fans caught him off guard. But, only he can give the green light to close the deal.
The option of Antonio Conte is not considered, unlike the ongoing interest in Thiago Motta (but Juventus is clearly ahead) and Francesco Farioli, with dedicated space also given to Van Bommel, Paulo Fonseca, Marco Rose, and Sergio Conceicao.
