The casting resumes. Or perhaps it never stopped for the AC Milan executives and directors. The new coach at Milanello to take over for next season is still not defined. But, it seems that Julen Lopetegui is now almost out of the equation.

The Rossoneri club is taking time to reflect on the right name. Today's Gazzetta dello Sport mentions three names: Mark Van Bommel, Paulo Fonseca, and Roberto De Zerbi.
For the first, the big sponsor is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his former teammate during his time at Milan. Van Bommel speaks excellent Italian and already has decent international coaching experience.
His recent experience at Antwerp has been, and still is, very fruitful. There have already been some contacts between the parties.
As for Fonseca possesses two very interesting factors: he will become available in June from Lille when his contract expires, and he already knows Italy from his experience at Roma.
His style, both on and off the field, is appreciated, as well as his courage with young players. In this case too, there have already been contacts.
Contacts have not yet been made for Roberto De Zerbi, perhaps the most intriguing name. Milan has gathered information in the last week and there is interest. The main obstacle remains the 15 million euros clause to free him from his duties at Brighton in the Premier League: if a way to bypass it is found, the former Sassuolo coach would move up the list.
The Italian newspaper Tuttosport, however, also discusses him, presenting another hypothesis, namely, his dismissal from the English club. In that case, everything would change in the evaluation of the Rossoneri executives.
The Turin-based newspaper explained that the club is trying to regain ground for Thiago Motta, who has reportedly promised to join Juventus. It remains to be seen whether there is still room to convince him or not. In addition to those already mentioned, another name mentioned is that of Sergio Conceicao from Porto.
