"The accused ownership. [Curva] Sud in silence": this is how Tuttosport titled this morning regarding yesterday's strike by the Milan Curva, which, in protest with the club's policies, remained silent throughout the match against Genoa and then, ten minutes before the end of the match, left the stands of San Siro.
Regarding the fans' protest, Stefano Pioli stated in the post-match press conference:
"We were focused on the game: the fans have been an added value in these years, but if they protested, they must be respected. We made mistakes in our approach, we went behind, then we pushed hard, we caught up with the necessary fervor and energy. We shouldn't have conceded a goal like that because we were well positioned. I don't have to say anything to the fans: they were fantastic, fantastic. They gave us so much energy, enthusiasm, and support. We have the duty to give our best in these last three games. Then the fans paid for the ticket and can do what they believe: they love Milan so much and for them, many things didn't work out as they hoped."
