Paolo Maldini, former captain and legend of AC Milan, who is also an ex director at the club, through his lawyer Danilo Buongiorno, denounced the attempted censorship regarding his latest interview:
Lawyer Danilo Buongiorno, on behalf of Mr. Paolo Maldini, warns anyone against repeating such behaviors and reserves, if necessary, every action to protect his client; and to defend the fundamental right to freedom of expression.
Journalist Alessandro Alciato, who conducted the interview, had recently spoken on social media about "pressure not to broadcast it." And addressing Maldini, he had said, "Your freedom of thought always makes the difference."
