This evening, at the Teuliè Military School in Milan, the Gala evening will take place where the 29th edition of the Gentleman Fair Play Award will be presented. Competing for the "golden turret" of San Siro are the captain of Inter, the Italian Champion Lautaro Martinez, forwards Dusan Vlahovic and Mike Maignan of Juventus and Milan respectively, and the young promising talent of Genoa, Albert Gudmundsson.
The Gala evening will be hosted by Massimo Caputi along with Laura Barriales and Giorgia Rossi, during which the coveted Serie A Gentleman Fair Play Award will be presented.
Upon arrival, AC Milan's midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, who was present at the event, was interviewed by Milan News.
Here are his words:
"It's a great honour to be nominated, I come from a small Dutch club and now I am here."
What do you think about your first season at Milan?
"We are not satisfied, our goal was to win the Scudetto, and it didn't happen. As for me, it's just about adapting to Italian football, improving myself, and making bigger steps next season."
What does Milan need to do to close the gap with Inter? Reijnders replied:
"I think this season there were many new players, we needed to get to know each other. Next season there will be a big difference."
Joshua Zirkzee was not called up for the European Championship...
"He got injured recently, I think that's the reason for the decision. He is doing very well, he is a good player and a nice person, I hope he gets called up next time."
This season you often played as a defensive midfielder, Reijnders commented:
"I am a player who can play in all midfield roles, this year I became a complete midfielder having to play more defensively as well. For my improvement, it was very useful."
