Stefano Pioli, the AC Milan head coach, spoke to Sky after the 3-1 loss against Torino and said these words:
"Even though the result is a bit too decisive, especially in the first half we were inattentive. It was a difficult match; today they won more second balls than we did. They were more attentive and determined. Second string players? We were the best among the normal ones because there was a team that did something extraordinary. In this match, we could have done more, but it's not a matter of starters or reserves."
He then continued:
"Emotions? It will be the last game of the season and then we'll see. We've been talking about this for many months. I must say that the team did well because it's not easy to follow a coach in such a situation. I didn't have difficulties because the group was cohesive. We faced difficulties, but we responded well and had a good season. The big regret is the exit from the Champions League; we were close to advancing, and then also the exit against Roma in Europa League. In the league, however, we were the best among the normal ones."
Pioli added:
"Personal emotions? Certain things didn't weigh on me that much. I know everything gets exaggerated, but I'm happy with how the guys reacted. I believe that, aside from the defensive difficulties we had, we were also defensively inattentive tonight. We conceded 4 shots and allowed 3 goals."
Finally, he concluded:
"Future? I have nothing against anyone; we managed a not easy situation around us in the best way possible. A good season, but a disappointing European campaign. I don't have any meetings with the club; since I've been here, we always meet at the end of the season. At this moment, I know nothing. I haven't spoken to any other team; I will only do so if my contract with Milan ends, because I respect this club and these fans. Right now, I just want to finish in the best way, then I will evaluate."
