The casting continues at AC Milan to find the replacement for Stefano Pioli, who is set to lead Milan for the last two times against Torino tonight and Salernitana next week. The final decision is approaching, and so are the options narrowing down for the Rossoneri, who currently seem to have two choices in hand: one with the option of Paulo Fonseca and one with the option of Mark van Bommel.
Tuttosport reported this morning that the Portuguese coach has long been on the Rossoneri’s list of candidates. Besides Milan, he has two other offers in France one from Lille to renew his current contract expiring on June 30th and one from Marseille and two in Europe. Tomorrow night, Fonseca will play against Nice for a spot in the next Champions League, and it's likely that after the match he will reveal more about his future.
Attention, however, should be paid to the Van Bommel option, whose chances of getting the Milan job have significantly increased in recent hours. The Dutchman, who played for the Rossoneri for a season and a half (and was one of the protagonists of the 2010-2011 Scudetto under coach Allegri), is closely connected to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, his former teammate at Milan. The Swede is a great supporter of his, and who knows, in the end, the Milan bench might indeed be entrusted to him.
