During the event featuring the popular podcast "Fontana di Trevi" by 'Cronache di Spogliatoio', journalist Riccardo Trevisani discussed Paulo Fonseca who is more than likely set to become the new AC Milan coach.
Here are his statements.
"Fonseca did not perform worse than Mourinho (at Roma) but he didn't do any better either, and he had much more time at his disposal than the four months De Rossi has had today. He is a rather unlucky and flashy coach in what he does. I think of the six substitutions against Spezia, a blunder that deserved better fortune. And above all, what I say is... Fonseca conceded a goal from Aston Villa when he was qualified in the 88th minute, and managed to concede a goal from Nice and not go directly to the Champions League, at home, when he was winning. Here we talk about Italiano and scrutinize his flaws as if we're at the dermatologist's, but there's much worse out there compared to Italiano. And especially, for me, Fonseca is worse than Pioli. He's a sort of Portuguese Pioli. You shake your head, but remember that in the next four years you won't finish second twice and first once. I'll put it in writing, it won't happen."
