On June 30th, the season will officially end, marking the last day at AC Milan for five players. Four of them have already announced their departure and bid farewell to the fans: Olivier Giroud, Simon Kjaer, Antonio Mirante, and Mattia Caldara. One player, Luka Jovic, is still uncertain about his future.
This afternoon, the Calcio&Finanza website presented an interesting analysis on the amount Milan will save from the expiration of these players' contracts, including the Serbian striker who is not yet certain to play for Milan next year.
According to estimates from C&F's calculations, Milan could free up about 24 million euros net. This is broken down as follows: approximately 8 million euros will be saved from amortisations that will no longer be on the balance sheet (the biggest benefit comes from the over 5 million euros saved on Caldara's contract); the other 15 million euros are related to gross salaries. In the latter case, the highest amount is represented by approximately 4.5 million euros for Olivier Giroud.
Amortisations:
- Antonio Mirante: 70,000 euros.
- Simon Kjaer: 614,000 euros.
- Mattia Caldara: 5.2 million euros.
- Olivier Giroud: 2.8 million euros.
- Luka Jovic: 0 euros (arrival on a free transfer last summer).
Gross salaries:
- Antonio Mirante: approximately 1.2 million euros.
- Simon Kjaer: approximately 1.9 million euros.
- Mattia Caldara: approximately 4 million euros.
- Olivier Giroud: approximately 4.5 million euros.
- Luka Jovic: approximately 3.2 million euros.
