Speaking live on Radio Deejay, the well-known transfer market expert of Sky Sport Italia, Gianluca Di Marzio provided an update on Bologna, focusing particularly on the future of Joshua Zirkzee, who has long been Milan's primary target to strengthen their attack and replace Giroud next season.
Over the course of these months, it had become almost certain that the Dutchman would leave Bologna this summer, but nothing is ever certain, especially in the transfer market. During his speech, Gianluca Di Marzio indeed opened up to a rather interesting scenario: the possibility of Joshua Zirkzee staying with the rossoblù, as well as Riccardo Calafiori.
Here are his statements, as relayed via Milan News:
"I am convinced that Bologna will keep Calafiori; Juve is almost resigned. In addition to that, there’s a small chance that Zirkzee might stay as well. In meetings with Bologna, Italiano said: 'Who do we take up front?' And they replied, 'Are you sure Zirkzee is leaving?' (Laughs)."
