Today in Naples is the day of the press conference for the presentation of Antonio Conte at Palazzo Reale. The new coach of Napoli spoke about many topics: the transfer market, key players, and more.
Conte also responded to Ibrahimovic. The RedBird consultant, during a press conference (read it in full here) when asked why Milan didn't choose him as the Milan coach, replied: "First, you study the team's identity. When we spoke face to face with Fonseca, his ambition and desire to work convinced us. When we chose: Milan has a coach, not a manager, it's different. With all due respect to Conte, who is a great coach: he wasn't what we were looking for, he didn't fit our criteria."
Here's Conte's response:
"Ibrahimovic's words? I respect everyone. He said he sees me more as a manager? I consider myself a manager, I want to have a say, and maybe elsewhere this could have been annoying."
Conte also spoke about Lukaku, a possible target for Milan and Napoli.
"Regarding Romelu Lukaku, we're talking about a strong player, just like with Osimhen we talk about excellent players. There's no comment to make, just admiration when they play and always hoping to have them on your side and never against you."
