In addition to a striker, Milan wants to provide Paulo Fonseca with a new central midfielder, a player who can reinforce the Rossoneri midfield with a lot of quality but, above all, muscle, something that was somewhat lacking last season. For this reason, the Milanese directors have started to evaluate various profiles that could suit this new and ambitious technical project, focusing their attention and preference on Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, as pointed out by Milan News.
The 25-year-old Frenchman from Monaco is Milan's first choice for the midfield, as evidenced by the fact that the club is ready to make a decisive move for the player right after Euro2024. However, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the parties are not yet close to reaching an agreement, as there is a significant but not insurmountable gap between the asking price and the offer.
According to the Italian journalist, Monaco values Fofana at 25 million euros, while Milan intends to spend between 15 and 18 million euros, considering the Frenchman's contract expires in a year. Additionally, there is no agreement yet between Milan and the player on the contract, which means there is still much to discuss and negotiate.
