Yesterday, the transfer market officially started, and with it, the 175 million euros release clause in AC Milan's Rafael Leao's contract was made available, it can now be triggered by any interested club.
Some rumours, however, suggest that the Rossoneri management might sell for less than the actual clause amount. But for now, there is nothing to worry about, also because, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rafael Leao is not for sale.
Despite the uncertainty related to the release clause, Milan is quite calm about Rafael Leao's future. The meeting at the Portuguese training camp in Germany between the Rossoneri's number 10 and the new coach Paulo Fonseca somehow confirms this: the club wants to rely on their star in the new season and has no intention of letting him go. However, in the transfer market, the rule of "never say never" applies, so it will be better to celebrate his stay on August 31st and not before.
Milan is calm but always alert when it comes to Rafael Leao. As mentioned earlier, there is no intention at Casa Milan to let the Portuguese number 10 leave, but facing the payment of the clause or an eight-figure sum, saying no will be impossible. For now, however, according to the same source, despite the interest from Saudi clubs, Leao's father, Antonio, has entrusted a trusted intermediary to further explore the matter, although it will be very difficult to present an offer that excites the player and convinces Milan. A small door remains open in case of a crazy move by a top European club, with Paris Saint Germain, now without Mbappé, being the main suspect to make such a move, although at the moment they seem to prefer Napoli's Kvaratskhelia over Leao in Paris.
