The Turkish national team coach, Vincenzo Montella, gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport to discuss the progress made by the Turkish national team in the German Euro, now in the quarter-finals.
On Saturday, they have a match against the Netherlands, and the former Milan coach wants to dream... without forgetting where he came from.
"I am not looking for revenge; I have followed my own path. I experienced the thrill of the Champions League with Roma, won at Old Trafford with Sevilla, saw the satisfaction of Fiorentina fans for the way we played, and won a trophy with Milan. Now, I am happy in Turkey: I chose this challenge to test myself, but without any intention of seeking revenge."
Montella concludes:
"The best night of my career was that match against Austria? I haven’t forgotten the joy of winning the Supercoppa with Milan: a trophy stays with you forever. However, this achievement is on another level and in a different dimension because, as a national team coach, you represent an entire country. So yes, it was the best night."
