Capello: “New striker for Milan? Fonseca’s response was somewhat ambiguous”

This morning, on the pages of Gazzetta dello Sport, former Milan player and coach Fabio Capello commented on the striker situation at AC Milan:

"With Giroud gone, who will arrive? Fonseca said, 'A number 9 capable of playing especially in the last 30 meters, even without space.' It's a somewhat ambiguous response, open to many interpretations. Certainly, in the final third of the field, both Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku, the most talked-about profiles for Milan's market, know their stuff."

Capello then continued, also commenting on Milan's desire to close the gap with Inter:

"The Spaniard has some more associative qualities, while the Belgian has significant physicality in the penalty area. Both have goals in their feet and are accustomed to wearing important shirts like the red and black one. It's too early to say that Milan will match Inter solely with the acquisition of an excellent center-forward. Teams are still in construction, some have changed their technical direction, and others are still uncertain about their market moves. In Milan's case, which hasn't announced any signings yet, both things are true."
