Paolo Scaroni, President of Milan, at the event where all the initiatives for the club's 125th anniversary are being presented, said these words:
"My story with Milan began during that disastrous era of Yonghong Li. I joined the club's Board of Directors on behalf of Elliott and truly experienced a year of passion. There are all sorts of obligations, and we never had our accounts in order. At the last second of the last minute, five million would arrive, allowing us to register for the championship."
Scaroni added:
"It was a terrible period until Elliott took over and asked me to become the president: it was July 22, 2018, and I attended the assembly where there were shareholders with long faces and few journalists. We were coming off five years without the Champions League, perhaps the darkest years in Milan's history. I know that the fans want everything; I also want to win every match. Now, we have made some progress, and we experienced great emotions with the Scudetto. I have been president for six years, the fourth longest-serving in Milan's history. I would like to reach the podium."
Scaroni continued:
"Celebrating 125 years is a great celebration. We are an iconic and historic institution, but we have managed to remain very young. That is the miracle. We still know how to inspire passion and emotions. I am surrounded by people who demonstrate a truly rare passion. Celebrating our 125th anniversary also projects us into the future; it doesn't just make us look at our glorious past. We remain the great club of Milan; we don't know any others (he smiles)."
