Following the match against Rapid Vienna, AC Milan captain Davide Calabria shared his thoughts on the new Milan under Paulo Fonseca. Here’s what he had to say:
"We’re in preparation, we’ve done a lot of training, and it’s part of this period to be tired in games. We’ve tried to implement what we’ve practiced so far; there’s a lot to see, work on, and learn. It’s part of the process; some things went well, others not as we wanted, but we’re just at the beginning and need to improve a lot."
On Paulo Fonseca’s style of play:
"There are new concepts, and we need to process and make them our own. It’s important because during a game you can’t talk and think; they need to become automatic. These matches, these minutes, and these experiences are crucial, especially with teammates who have been here for a short time, perhaps the younger ones. It’s part of the process to learn and make these concepts increasingly ours."
On the US tour, Calabria said:
"We will play against important teams, the best in the world. We are ready and can’t wait to head to America and have this experience. It will be interesting to see the progress with the coach, with the new concepts becoming more and more our own."
On Alvaro Morata’s arrival:
"He’s a great champion, has had an incredible career, and continues to prove he’s a top-level player. He just won the European Championship. I’m convinced he will help us right away. Of course, we already know him and can’t wait to welcome him; I spoke to him the other day."
