West Ham, one of the most aggressive clubs pursuing Youssouf Fofana, is close to finalizing a deal for another defensive midfielder, Guido Rodriguez, according to Calciomercato.com.
Recently, the Hammers have complicated matters a bit for AC Milan by inserting themselves between the Rossoneri and Monaco and raising the demands of sporting director Scuro. The Premier League club, however, is now closing in on a three-year deal with Argentine midfielder Guido Rodriguez, who became a free agent at the end of June after leaving Real Betis Sevilla.
Milan, bolstered by the player's preference and with his contract expiring in 2025, is working to bridge the gap between the 20 million euro asking price and the last proposal that has increased from 12 to 14 to 17 million euros, writes Ccalciomercato.
Fofana is expected to earn 3 million euros per season for 4 years once all the details are finalized between the Rossoneri and West Ham. Discussions are ongoing, despite Thiago Scuro himself warning: "The agreement with Fofana is that he can leave Monaco this summer. However, the stipulated conditions must be respected."
