We can’t wait any longer. In less than two weeks, Milan will start getting serious and will play their first official match of the season, which will also be their league debut: on Saturday, August 17, Torino, led by coach Paolo Vanoli, will visit San Siro. Paulo Fonseca, currently with the team on their American tour, expects that by August 10, when the Rossoneri return to Milanello, he will find at least a couple of reinforcements for the match against Torino. In general, Milan, as Tuttosport reminds us today, is working on four potential targets.
The players the Rossoneri are focusing on most at the moment are Emerson Royal and Youssouf Fofana, two profiles that Milan has been interested in since June and for which they have been working continuously in the hope of overcoming the resistance of Tottenham and Monaco. Regarding the Brazilian full-back, Tuttosport highlights that the negotiations are finally progressing well: Milan is ready to close the deal for Royal within the next 48 hours. There is still a 1-2 million difference, and the final amount is likely to be around 17 million, all included. For the French midfielder, the situation is more complicated, involving the Principality. The Monegasques have set the price at 35 million, while Milan is offering a maximum of half: they will come to an agreement, but it is unlikely the Rossoneri will close for less than 25 million. Fonseca needs a midfielder, so accelerating negotiations will be necessary.
Then there are the two signings that are not vital but could be important to complete the squad with quality players. Starting with midfield, Milan's dream is to bring Lazar Samardzic, a Serbian midfielder and attacking midfielder who has stood out at Udinese over the past two years, to Milanello. The negotiations will be complicated on both sides: with the father-agent who has made things difficult for both Inter and Napoli in the last 12 months, and especially with the Friulian club, which will demand at least 25 million. Milan needs to weigh the pros and cons of a potential deal. A little further forward, they are looking for a backup for Morata, regardless of Luka Jovic’s future. With Fullkrug heading to the Premier League, Milan will push for Tammy Abraham, a player highly regarded by Fonseca: Roma is asking for 25 million, but at AC Milan, they are not willing to spend that much. A long negotiation is expected, as relayed via Milan News.
