Milan president Paolo Scaroni was interviewed by Mediaset before the Milan - Monza match, part of the second edition of the Silvio Berlusconi Trophy.
An evening of great emotions:
"Really, I wouldn’t miss this match for anything in the world. I have to say that it’s not just me who is feeling emotions. Just listen to how many people we have here at San Siro, and with those who will watch the match on television, we are many sharing this great excitement for the Berlusconi Trophy."
A memory of Silvio Berlusconi? Scaroni answered:
"I had the privilege of knowing President Berlusconi in many roles, especially as Prime Minister. I continued to see him a few days before his passing. I saw him as Milan and as Monza, so I have a clear and strong memory of him, of a person who managed to innovate in many fields. He was a great innovator, viewed the world with optimism, and did so in many sectors, including football. The period he lived through was the brightest in Milan’s history, and I believe that Milan under RedBird and Gerry Cardinale can retrace those bright steps we experienced in the past. Passion drives everything; I see Gerry Cardinale very passionate about Milan. Let’s see, we start tonight: a match outside the league, but one that has attracted many people and I am very pleased about it.”
