AC Milan are getting ready to kickstart the Serie A campaign after having played their last friendly match against AC Monza at the San Siro.
After last night's victory, Milan immediately returned to work under the guidance of coach Paulo Fonseca, in preparation for Saturday night's clash (8:45 PM CEST) against Vanoli's Torino. The Portuguese coach aims to confirm the positive impressions from his first month and a half as Milan's manager, starting the national competition on the right foot. Ahead of the match against Vanoli's team, Fonseca has to contend with Christian Pulisic's physical issue: the American did not participate in the game against former player Alessandro Nesta’s Monza, but he is expected to recover for the season opener.
A knock to Pulisic's ankle sustained during training in recent days prevented Pulisic from taking part in the Berlusconi Trophy. This morning, as a precaution, he trained separately at Milanello, but the word from the Rossoneri camp is that he will rejoin the group tomorrow. The former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund player is thus likely to be available for the Milan-Torino match.
Fonseca has two options: to play Pulisic on the right wing or as a central attacking midfielder behind Morata, with Samuel Chukwueze starting on the right. It's worth noting that Pierre Kalulu, who is set to join Juventus, also participated in the morning training session.
