On Instagram, Rafael Leao posted a message explaining the images from the 'Tardini' stadium during the Parma - Milan match, where he is seen silencing a section of Milan fans after his assist for Pulisic:
"The gesture was never and will never be for the Curva Sud because they have always supported me in the most difficult moments. They are probably the only true fans who stick with us in tough times. The gesture was directed at a specific fan who made a negative comment when we were losing. No Milan player steps onto the field to play badly on purpose. We honor this shirt from the beginning to the end of every match."
Leao also clarified something about his playing style and said the following:
"I will continue to take risks as I always have; this is what makes me different. I won’t change my way of playing because I took risks. Yesterday’s match is over, now I focus on the next battle. Curva Sud, always with you."
