AC Milan, after a positive pre-season, has been hit hard. First, a draw at San Siro against Torino, then a loss at the Tardini stadium against newly promoted side Parma.
As explained by Il Corriere dello Sport, even the Rossoneri stars, namely Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao, have betrayed the team with their lacklustre performances.
Leao not in his peak...

The argument with a fan in the stands only confirms the nervousness the Portuguese player is experiencing in this short but challenging start to the season. After missing several chances, especially in front of goal, during the league opener, both Fonseca and the fans expected a completely different performance from Rafael Leao against Parma, but it never materialized.
Milan’s number 10 was imprecise in his decisions and key passes, but his despair after Cancellieri’s goal (which originated from one of his mistakes) shows his total commitment to Milan's cause. He is rightly expected to also be part of the solution, writes the newspaper, especially because he has shown at times that he can be.
Theo Hernandez and his superficiality...
Theo Hernandez’s performance at Parma was superficial, as this attitude of the French full-back weighed heavily on Milan’s defeat. Returning late from vacation, the Rossoneri's number 19 is undoubtedly still out of shape, but at this level, his mental focus cannot be lacking, especially since it would have taken just that extra sprint at the Tardini stadium to at least try to prevent Man and Cancellieri's goals.
So, in addition to Leao, Milan's other star is also struggling to shine, and it is no coincidence that the entire team is finding it difficult to get going with the left flank stalling.
