Paulo Fonseca has always expressed great enthusiasm for Alexis Saelemaekers, to the point that after the pre-season preparations in the United States, he decided to remove him from the transfer market to keep him in his Milan squad.
The situation, however, seems to have changed once again, with the Belgian, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, possibly leaving in these final days of the transfer window.
Fonseca continues to describe him as an important part of his squad, but if an interesting offer comes in, at least 20 million euros, Milan might sit down at the table to negotiate Saelemaekers' departure.
Alexis Saelemaekers remained on the bench for 90 minutes during last Saturday's defeat in Parma.
During the USA tour earlier this summer, head coach Paulo Fonseca responded to our question about Saelemaekers and said the following:
"He is a player I love a lot. I like the quality. I think he is a kind of player every coach loves to have, because he can play in different positions. He is more confident, I think he is a player I would love to keep in the team.”
