Tammy Abraham's debut at the Stadio Olimpico wearing the Milan shirt was more than positive.
The English striker, who arrived only on Friday, was immediately thrown into the fray by Fonseca in the 70th minute when the Rossoneri were down 2-1.
Not even two minutes later, a goal for the final 2-2 draw arrived with Abraham contributing with an assist, on his very first touch.
Shortly after, Abraham tried in vain to call back the two "rebels," Hernandez and Leao, who had moved off to the other side of the field rather than listening to Fonseca's instructions and staying with their teammates during the cooling break.
In the final moments, Abraham had a good chance, but his shot from a tight angle was deflected for a corner by Provedel.
As pointed out by Milan News, in the 24 minutes played, Abraham was the Milan player who took the most shots (2) and was overall only behind Castellanos (3), who played 88 minutes.
In terms of shots on target, Abraham was actually the best overall, tied with Dia (2 each). Additionally, according to data from Serie A's official website, Abraham also made three passes to his teammates with 100% accuracy.
As mentioned earlier, he was decisive in the 2-2 goal, providing the assist to Rafa Leao.
Of course, time will be needed to understand and adapt to Fonseca's tactics and his teammates, but Rossoneri fans are hopeful that he can replicate his first season at Roma, when in 2021/2022 he was one of the key players in their Conference League victory, finishing the season with 27 goals (17 in Serie A, 9 in the Conference League, and 1 in the Coppa Italia) and 5 assists.
