The Rossoneri goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, left the field in pain and in tears during the second half against Liverpool.

Additionally, before leaving the match, the former Lille player had shown muscle problems after a clearance, remaining on the field and being less than flawless on the goals scored by Konaté and Van Dijk.
This is the tenth physical problem Maignan has had since arriving at Milan in 2021. A wrist injury and various calf issues have often kept the highly skilled French national team shotstopper sidelined, who is on the verge of a renewal with the Rossoneri after months of negotiations nearing completion.
When will Maignan return to the field?

The former Paris Saint-Germain player injury will be assessed today at Milanello: the results of the exams will determine the likelihood of seeing him in goal on Sunday, September 22 at 8:45 PM, when the derby against Inter is scheduled, marking the fifth day of the season.
At the moment, however, Maignan is considered doubtful for the derby, as per the report published earlier by Calciomercato.com.
Who will play in his place?
With Marco Sportiello unavailable due to injury, the role of second goalkeeper is currently filled by the young talent, Lorenzo Torriani, who is 19 years old. In fact, he comes from the Rossoneri youth ranks. Torriani made his Champions League debut and conceded a goal that was frankly impossible to save from Dominik Szoboszlai, as the Hungarian's shot was too close and angled.
