Paulo Fonseca spoke to the microphones of CBS Sports at the end of the Derby won 2-1. These were his statements, as relayed via Milannews.it:
You've received a lot of criticism; how do you feel now after this victory?
"I'm very happy, a very important victory. It's the derby... Milan had lost the last six."

Now you've come and won the derby on your first attempt:
"I'm really a lucky guy (laughs). I'm really happy. I don't remember the last team that caused Inter this many difficulties. Playing against them is always tough. Surely you saw the game against Manchester City: it was difficult for them to create clear goal-scoring chances because Inter defends really well. But honestly, today we deserved to win, even by 1 or 2 more goals. I think the game was always in our favour. We controlled possession and the match. I'm really happy for the players and the fans; they deserved it."
How important is Christian Pulisic?
"He's a fantastic player. He's playing really well. I’m using him in a more central position: he's very involved in the play, he's scored in the last two matches, and he's going through a great moment."
Today, a big change for the derby: you opted for a two-man attack with Alvaro Morata and Tammy Abraham. Fonseca said:
"We played with the same strategy but with different players. Morata plays as a false nine, almost like a number ten. Against Liverpool, we played with Reijnders in that position. Obviously, Morata has different characteristics, and we saw the results. We played really well with Abraham and Morata. We caused them some confusion with these positions: that was the intention. I liked Morata's performance."
On Tammy Abraham:
"Abraham is a player I've wanted since the first day I arrived here because he's a different kind of player. He brings so much energy to the team, and we need that. This energy, this positivity, this aggressiveness... He's a player who works a lot for the team. I think he can be very important for us."
