After the second consecutive loss in the Champions League at Leverkusen, Milan returns to the field on Sunday evening in the league against Fiorentina: the match will take place at 8:45 PM CEST at the Artemio Franchi Stadium for the seventh round of Serie A.
The Rossoneri need to show that the trip to Germany was just a minor setback and must build on the last half-hour of the match – which deserved at least one goal – against Bayer. They will face Fiorentina, led by former Milan player Yacine Adli, who is coming off a victory in the Conference League, as pointed out by Milannews.it.
As the matches go by, Paulo Fonseca has no intention of making changes to the starting lineup. The Portuguese coach will confirm the eleven who played the last few games, with the addition of Álvaro Morata, who wasn't at his best during the week and started on the bench in the Champions League: the Spaniard has fully recovered and, as we’re used to seeing, will play just behind Tammy Abraham in Milan’s attack.
Completing the offensive lineup: Pulisic on the right and Leão on the left.
In midfield, Fofana and Reijnders, a pair becoming more cohesive, will once again play alongside each other.
The only two selection dilemmas remain in defence. For the moment, both Emerson Royal and Tomori are favored over Calabria and Palovic to start the game: the defence will be rounded out by Gabbia and Theo. In goal, of course, is Mike Maignan, who is returning to top form. (Update: Davide Calabria has been injured; read the details HERE)
