La Gazzetta dello Sport, in this morning's print edition, published the following headline:
"Italy in the Nations League: Gatti is in, Barella is out, Gabbia makes his debut"
Barella is still out and will not be included in coach Luciano Spalletti's squad for the double Nations League fixture against Belgium (on the 10th in Rome) and Israel (on the 14th in Udine).
A new development is the debut of Matteo Gabbia, who has been performing excellently at Milan, replacing Okoli.
In midfield, one name is missing: it could be one among Zaniolo, the very young Pisilli, who might return to the Under-21 after the first match, Cristante, or Locatelli.
The condition of Udogie, who was unavailable in Serie A yesterday, needs to be assessed among the wingbacks. Chiesa might return in attack. The squad meets Sunday evening in Coverciano.
Here is a probable list:
GOALKEEPERS: Donnarumma, Vicario, Provedel (Di Gregorio).
DEFENDERS: Di Lorenzo, Gatti, Bastoni, Gabbia, Calafiori, Buongiorno.
WINGBACKS: Cambiaso, Bellanova, Dimarco, Udogie.
MIDFIELDERS: Ricci, Fagioli, Tonali, Pellegrini, Frattesi, Zaniolo, Pisilli (Locatelli, Cristante).
FORWARDS: Retegui, Raspadori, Kean, Chiesa (Zaccagni).
