AC Milan head coach, Paulo Fonseca, spoke to DAZN before the match against Fiorentina:
The team has been improving game after game; the derby was a turning point. Now we have an important away match in Serie A. Are we still looking for consistency?"
"The team is growing, even though we didn’t win against Leverkusen. I feel that the team is developing on all levels. In Serie A, every match is difficult; it will be a different game from the one we played against Leverkusen. They mark man-to-man, and we’ve trained for that. I believe the players have understood that these matches are played differently. For me, today the most important thing is not the quality of our positional play but winning."
Is Alvaro Morata irreplaceable? Fonseca answered:
"He is important for our structure, not just for how he plays but also for his experience and energy. He sets an example for others with his defensive work. Since we started playing with him, the team has improved."
Is it difficult to secure three points away in Serie A?
"It’s always difficult to get three points in Serie A, against any team. Sometimes it’s important to experience it to understand it. For me, Serie A is the most difficult league of all. Coaches who come here see that it’s totally different: in one game we have to be one way, in another game we have to be another way. It’s very challenging."
