There has been a lot of talk about Theo Hernandez in recent days, especially after his performance against Fiorentina last weekend.
Here's what the player's representative, Manuel Garcia Quilón, said to the microphones of TeleLombardia:
"There is no negotiation, we haven't talked about anything for 4 months, since May-June: the club contacted me, they asked if we wanted to stay and if we were happy in Milan. We said yes, but there have been no further contacts. We don't have any offer from the club."
But is it true that the request for the renewal is 8 million euros?
"Someone is spreading this rumour to influence public opinion."
What would happen if you don't renew by June? Theo's agent replies:
"Football is football, you're someone who works in the football world, and you know, you know that everything is very 'fast'... Things change every day due to the thousands of details that exist in football. Today, I can tell you that Theo's main idea is to continue at Milan, find an agreement, and stay with Milan as long as possible. He wants to grow as much as he can with the club and the team and have the best possible season. What will happen in a year? I don't know... I don't want to lie to you; I just don't know. But if this situation (of a possible departure) could be avoided within a year if the player renews, if he extends his contract. If he renews the contract, this situation won't happen. Now, if during this year, for various circumstances, the contract is not extended, what will happen? I’d be lying if I said I knew... and I don't like to lie. I don't know what could happen... But the idea right now, here and now, is that Theo is happy at Milan."
