Daniel Maldini has joined Luciano Spalletti's national team for the first time. After important performances with AC Monza, the versatile attacking midfielder has earned the national teams colours.
In an interview with Sky Sport Italia, in fact, his father Paolo Maldini, the legendary Milan player and former executive, has commented on this curcial milestone of his son before the Italy - Belgium match.
Here's what he had to say:
"He has always worked hard, he deserves this opportunity. He has extraordinary qualities in shooting, reading the game, and has grown physically."
Paolo Maldini added:
"When you carry this surname, it's not easy, but he knows he has to be strong."
The match between Italy and Belgium ended in a 2-2 draw. Daniel Maldini did not make an appearance as he remained on the bench.
