The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president, Gabriele Gravina, spoke about the need to trust the young Italian players. Here's what he said in an interview:

"In the last five years of our governance, we have achieved the best results at the youth level", he told Messaggero Veneto. "From the Under-20 to the Under-19 teams, up to our pride: the Under-17 National Team, the symbol of a project."
Gravina added:
"Those boys beat the very strong Portugal team 3-0 in terms of both intensity and play. It won’t be long before Italy returns to being a reference point with the senior national team, and will once again be part of the elite group of World Cup giants. Because we have the talent, but it’s unfortunate to see that often they aren’t used by clubs. I’m thinking of Milan's Camarda. Talent needs opportunities, and abroad they provide them (with opportunities)."
