AC Milan beat Udinese 1-0 in what was a tough physical match. The match was especially complicated due to Tijjani Reijnders' red cards. But, Mike Maignan and his teammates were able to finish the match with a clean sheet and three important points.

Italian journalist, Carlo Pellegatti, has discussed the match. Here are his words:
"(Referee) Chiffi didn’t convince me; after just one minute, there was already a yellow card. People tell me Milan was favoured by the incidents. No, we were condemned by the incidents. We dominated the first half, a compact eleven. A stratospheric Pulisic. Then Reijnders runs, Lovric falls because his boot's stud touches Reijnders as he moves. Red card by Chiffi, and VAR says, 'okay.' It’s incredible. That’s where it all starts. The Udinese offside calls wouldn’t have happened.”
Pellegatti continued to talk about Milan's victory and also coach Paulo Fonseca:
“They say the team is against him (Fonseca), and there have been episodes that made them think that way. But today, with the team assembled by Fonseca, Milan responded brilliantly, united. This is a turning point. All the players shined. At one point, the players were besieged, and the chants from the Curva gave them new energy. Great credit to the fans too. Getting these three points like this, I’m happy. It’s a great response, and the fear that Milan wasn’t backing Fonseca is gone."
He added:
"I thought Leao was important at one point: even there, Fonseca was right. Rafa saw it, maybe he was left out of training, but Fonseca has taken over Milanello; he’s in charge. It was a long and exhausting afternoon, but I screamed like I haven’t in a long time.”
