According to what is reported by 'Il Corriere dello Sport' in this morning's print edition, there is a little bit of noise made by the fact that Rafael Leao has played zero minutes in the win against Udinese.

In light of this exclusion, it's natural to wonder: after his statements with the national team, has a new "Leao case" erupted at Milan?

The answer is simple and was already given yesterday by Paulo Fonseca in the post-match interview at San Siro: no. The Portuguese coach simply decided to exclude his compatriot for technical reasons, or at least that’s what he said, especially since within 21 days, the Rossoneri will have to play a match every three days, meaning they literally need everyone.

Tuesday against Club Brugge in the Champions League will be the first counter-test, but any attempt at creating controversy was immediately shut down by Fonseca, who spoke in the press conference: "It's not normal to see Leao on the bench, but it is normal for me when I say that the team is more important: Milan is more important than any player. Today, I decided to play Okafor and Chukwueze, maybe tomorrow it will be Leao’s turn. Let’s not create a case, because there isn’t one. Leao was respectful, happy in the locker room for the win, and for me, that’s the most important thing. Now, I’m preparing for the next match, and maybe Leao will return to play."

Leao is happy - Milan is more united than one might think

Yesterday's performance confirms Milan's unity. In addition to that, Paulo Fonseca found the best reaction he could have hoped for after the ugly defeat in Florence at the Artemio Franchi before the international break.
