In a press conference in view of the Champions League clash against club Brugge, AC Milan's Tijjani Reijnders said these words to the media:
"The Champions League's meaning for my growth? It’s important for me to be decisive. We midfielders are the engine of the team. Against Udinese, we did well; tomorrow it will be important to play in the same way.”
Are refereeing styles different in Europe?
“I don't know, we'll see tomorrow. The important thing is not to get into certain situations anymore. I have to be more careful and avoid repeating something like that.”
What is your preferred role? Do you discuss it with the coach?
“I’m a box-to-box player. I’ve played in every position in the midfield. I’m a number 8, but that doesn’t mean I can’t play in other positions. It’s up to the coach to tell me where he needs me to play.”
What are your goals? Reijnders replied:
“I think I want to become more decisive with assists and goals. I want to win cups and titles every season, like every player.”
Who inspires you? Could Neeskens from the great Netherlands team be a model? He answered:
"I've never seen Johan Neeskens play. Football was different in that period. I always try to show my own qualities."
