Paulo Fonseca spoke to Sky microphones to comment on Milan's 3-1 win against Brugge:
On Francesco Camarda, record debut and disallowed goal:
"I think he and the team deserved this moment. I'm sorry about the disallowed goal because it was a beautiful moment for a young player who deserves to be part of this group and has worked hard to get the opportunity. I felt bad, but he'll score many goals in the future. He shouldn't be disappointed—this is just the beginning, and he'll score a lot."
On the performance, Fonseca said:
"I think we played without intensity, the ball circulation was too slow, and we didn't understand how to play against a team that defends deep. When Okafor and Chukwueze came on, the game changed; they brought fresh energy, and the team gained intensity. After the second goal, we did some really good things, but before that, we played without intensity."
On Rafael Leao:
"There is no specific problem with him. The substitution wasn't a punishment; we needed Okafor and Chukwueze. It should be seen as normal, and Rafa should see it as normal and work to help the team like all the players."
Could you have been more aggressive when you had a numerical advantage?
"Our intention was the same, even with 11 versus 11. We need to do better. I think we weren't aggressive until the second goal. After that, yes. We need to be a more aggressive team."
Samuel Chukwueze did well when he came on; does he perform better as a substitute? Fonseca replied:
"I think we improved with the addition of Okafor and Chukwueze. But we improved a lot when Pulisic moved inside and wasn't playing on the wing. Honestly, Pulisic on the wing doesn't have the same influence as when he plays inside, and when we made that change, the team was different."
Next match, Samuel Chukwueze- Christian Pulisic- Noah Okafor from the first minute?
"Maybe. I'll think about it now. I must say I haven't studied Bologna yet. I'll study them and decide which players will be the best to face them."
