Lorenzo Casini, president of Serie A, spoke at a press conference following today’s assembly, which, among other things, decided to postpone the Bologna - Milan match.

The head of the Serie A league explained the background of how the decision was made to postpone the game, which was scheduled to be played at the Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna tomorrow at 6:00 PM CEST.
How did this postponement come about? Here are the words of the Serie A president:
"We were surprised by the mayor's ordinance, for two reasons. Typically, these decisions are made by the prefect, so the fact that it came from the mayor surprised us. Moreover, a dialogue opened up because, if you’ve read the ordinance, the assumption was the presence of 35,000 people in the stadium."
He added:
"We tried to negotiate with the mayor to play behind closed doors, but the municipality was not open to this: the choice became either to impose a neutral field with only 24 hours' notice, forcing it upon both teams, or to respect the ordinance from a legally recognised authority and postpone the match."
