Speaking to Sky Sport Italia recently, journalist Peppe Di Stefano shared these words on the situation at Milan between head coach Paulo Fonseca and Portuguese left-winger Rafael Leao:

"Fonseca wants different things from Rafa: in terms of play, attitude, and both defensive and offensive phases."
He added:
"He sees that Leao has an extremely fast engine, but he doesn’t push it to the limit. He uses a mix of discipline and encouragement; it remains to be seen whether he is the right person to respond to this kind of motivation.”
On the other hand, Mauro Tassotti, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, said the following about this Leao - Fonseca situation:
"If you have a great player in the squad, you need to create conditions for him to perform at his best. Sometimes a bit of rotation is okay to motivate him, but without going as far as masochism (self-sabotage)." (read the full interview HERE)
