The Monza coach, Alessandro Nesta, spoke in a press conference on the eve of the match against Milan in the eleventh round of the league:
"The path we've taken is clear. Against Venezia, we approached the game the wrong way; instead, we need to come in with the right mindset and create the right atmosphere. Against Milan, we need to have the same courage we showed in Bergamo against Atalanta."
Nesta added:
"At the moment, Monza has problems in midfield, and I believe that to play with two forwards, we need more numbers in midfield. If you push forward, you lose something at the back; it's a short blanket. However, I think Maric and Djuric would work well together. In general, those who are performing well do play. If a player is always sure of playing, he might unconsciously ease up. The other day, Vignato had a great game, and who would have expected it? We need to try to create healthy competition among players."

Nesta on facing his former club, Milan:
"It's always nice. I haven’t been with many teams in my life. It's always a pleasure to meet Milan and Lazio. Montreal and Chennaiyin would be harder. Rafael Leão? When he switches on, Milan switches on. We haven't yet seen his full 100%. Leão is a player who takes his breaks, but he makes an impact. Milan has many players like that; they’re strong. Monza will need courage. Courage grows with results. If you're last, courage fades; it’s normal. We need to be brave, especially with the ball at our feet, to intimidate the opponents, but we’re improving."
On injuries, Nesta said:
"Petagna, Sensi, Gagliardini, and Forson are out. Birindelli, however, has returned. Pedro Pereira or D'Ambrosio on the flank? In Bergamo against Atalanta, Pedro did well. We're short in defense, and Danilo D'Ambrosio couldn't play as a wing-back. But in the future, we’ll see."
On Daniel Maldini, the Monza coach said:
"Two will start, and two will come on. We've had three matches and have considered rotations. Daniel Maldini needs to be monitored to see if he’ll have any more issues or not."
