To try to become competitive again this season at the highest level, reinforcements are urgently needed from the transfer market. It remains to be seen what financial flexibility the club’s management will have, not so much for the next summer session, but rather for the winter window in January 2025.
AC Milan with an opportunity in the market?
The Rossoneri is closely monitoring the progress of Mattéo Guendouzi, born in 1999, a midfielder for Marco Baroni's Lazio and Didier Deschamps' French national team, for the summer 2025 transfer window.
Guendouzi cost Lazio 13 million euros when he arrived from Marseille on a permanent deal last summer (following a loan spell), with an additional potential 5 million euros in bonuses. Currently, he is valued at around 30 million euros, according to MilanLive.it.
The Rossoneri, particularly scout Geoffrey Moncada, hold him in high regard; he would fit well into a 4-2-3-1 formation alongside his countryman Youssouf Fofana.
There are currently no contacts or negotiations underway, but it is an idea worth keeping in mind for Milan's future.
The player is also of interest to Aston Villa, having previously played in the Premier League with Arsenal.
