Engaged with the Swedish national team, Viktor Gyökeres, (formerly linked with AC Milan) who has won everyone over with his goals and become a prized asset in the transfer market, continues to be a hot name in Europe, particularly in England, where he has been consistently linked with various Premier League clubs. The latest of these is Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.

In a conversation with Fotbollskanalen, the 26-year-old striker emphasised that the coach's departure to Old Trafford has left the players "sad." He dismissed the idea of a potential move in the winter transfer window, however.
On the contrary, Gyökeres stressed his hope to at least finish the season wearing the lion on his chest.
"It's not something I think about, nor something I give importance to. These are just rumors, nothing concrete. Of course, I want to finish the season at Sporting; I’m enjoying my time there. I don’t feel pressured to change teams. In the future, we’ll see when the time comes," he said.
On Manchester United, he added:
"He (Ruben Amorim) probably already has strikers there... It’s very sad that he left Sporting, but of course, we understand the decision. He meant a lot to me because he gave me an opportunity and helped me grow a lot."
