Speaking on the Gazzetta dello Sport podcast, journalist Luca Bianchin shared his thoughts on Theo Hernandez, who has not been performing at his usual level this season:

"Certainly, there could be a tactical element, with Fonseca limiting his forward runs to maintain a certain balance in the team. However, I believe it’s more a case of him not feeling at ease in this Milan. His reference points have always been Brahim Diaz, Paolo Maldini, and Samu Castillejo, and now none of them are here anymore. It’s clear that he needs to reinvent himself, and I’m not sure he will. I’ll say something bold: Gabbia as captain could be a solution because I think there’s a not-insignificant possibility that the Rossoneri's current captain and vice-captain won’t be here next season."
On AC Milan contract renewal talks, Bianchin said:
"Right now, the renewal talks for captain Calabria are stalled because they couldn’t reach an agreement. We’ll see if they revisit the negotiations, but for now, they’re closed. Theo is one of the most valuable players on the market; he’s the vice-captain. In my opinion, if there’s a moment when an interesting offer for everyone could come in, it’s now, with his contract running until 2026. In football, it’s well-known that when a player has two years left on their contract, you either renew or sell; otherwise, you risk losing them for free. It could therefore be in everyone’s interest to part ways next summer."
