During the usual episode of the 'Cronache di Spogliatoio' podcast, 'L'Ascia o Raddoppia', journalist Fabrizio Biasin shared his thoughts on Paulo Fonseca's strong statements following the Champions League match against Red Star:
"With everything we heard yesterday, the match ends: a match you won, marking your fourth consecutive victory in the Champions League, something that hadn’t happened since 2005. So, generally speaking, you can even accept a match that wasn’t brilliant but still brought you a positive result, points, and a favourable position in the standings at this point."

"Actually, I think Fonseca had been harboring this frustration for a couple of days, at least since the aftermath of the Atalanta match, when the club left him alone. Because when, the day after the match in Bergamo, you read 'AC Milan leaks that they agree with the coach,' the first thing I thought was: but given what happened, is it even possible for a club to just leak something like that? There needs to be an executive who either stands next to the coach when he speaks, or the next day publicly states, 'We stand with our coach'."
On Milan's Fonseca, he said:
"The club can leak whatever it wants, but doing so implies it doesn’t truly support its coach, or at least it doesn’t stand by him. And in my opinion, Fonseca couldn’t accept that. He was expecting concrete, decisive, and public support from the club and probably from some key players as well. Instead, he felt a bit abandoned in this situation, and he let it all out yesterday (Wednesday, ed.), saying 'The players aren’t good enough,' but he’s really saying it to the players to send a message to the executives as well."
