Eddie Howe, the Newcastle manager, spoke about the potential departure of Sandro Tonali from the Magpies, amid rumours that the player dreams of returning to Italy.
"It’s not in our plans to part ways with Sandro. These rumours make me laugh. Sandro is a vital part of what we’re doing."

Howe added:
"We’ve made a long-term investment in him, and personally, I’m really happy with him. We’ve built a solid relationship."
Only praise for Sandro Tonali, who was linked with Milan in recent days...
"He’s improving in every aspect, thanks also to the matches he’s playing. The period of suspension was tough for him because training alone didn’t allow him to learn much more. Matches are the best way to learn, and I think we’re witnessing his growth in all aspects of his game."
