The rift between the Rossoneri club and its fanbase has become increasingly evident, particularly following protests against the ownership after both the Milan-Genoa match and the celebration of the club's 125th anniversary.
The two banners displayed at San Siro encapsulate the sentiment of the Rossoneri faithful:
"AC Milan: we have waited for you and supported you endlessly; we’ve had enough of your mediocrity."
"Incompetent managers, a club without ambition. You are not worthy of our history."
As Tuttosport writes, "not even the news of imminent contract renewals for Mike Maignan, Tijjani Reijnders, and Christian Pulisic has changed the mood of the fanbase, which can no longer hold back its discontent with the current direction of the club."
It remains to be seen whether the Curva Sud Milano’s protests will continue on Friday in Verona.
