Italian journalist, Peppe Di Stefano, the well-known Sky Sport journalist, discusses it with Carlo Pellegatti in a video on his YouTube channel. Here are his statements:
The fans expect a “Milan-style” move from Gerry Cardinale…

“We wrote a book about Berlusconi, and his brother Paolo told us that he used to say to Silvio: ‘You have to put your hand in your pocket, not just on your heart.’ For many years, Berlusconi put his hand on his heart, but so did all the individual owners—Moratti, Berlusconi, Cecchi Gori. Unfortunately, today’s football is much more pragmatic and far less sentimental. The sentiment clearly remains with the fans. Do you remember years ago, when Milan was struggling and decided to sign Balotelli? Berlusconi made a financial effort, taking money from his own pockets."
On the AC Milan current situation, he said:
"Now, the situation is different: there is economic balance, and that balance must never be disrupted. It’s as if it’s a rule, a law: all teams are more or less following this line, and everyone has to stick to it. I still believe that Milan has an excellent foundation. To turn it into a team not just capable of a Champions League spot but of leading the standings, it really doesn’t take much. But it has to be done.”
