The coaching change, with the farewell to Paulo Fonseca and the welcome to Sergio Conceição, could alter AC Milan's transfer market strategies for the winter session, which opens today. In his first press conference, Milan's new coach stated that he wants to get to know all the players at his disposal first. Once introductions are made, as reported by Corriere dello Sport this morning, the new coach will indicate to the club how and where interventions would be most appropriate.

Is Fikayo Tomori set to stay at Milan?

The first transfer update, according to the Italian newspaper mentioned above, could actually involve a blocked outgoing move. Under the previous management, Fikayo Tomori had found himself sidelined, repeatedly warming the bench. This fueled growing speculation about a potential departure as January approached.

Suitors are certainly not lacking, with the primary one being tomorrow's opponent in the Italian Super Cup, Juventus. However, with Sérgio Conceição's arrival, all plans and negotiations have been put on hold.

The Portuguese coach holds the English center-back in high regard, while Tomori himself is eager to reset and prove himself under the new manager to reclaim a starting spot.

Is Kolo Muani followed by AC Milan?

What is perhaps most intriguing is the Rossoneri's potential activity in the incoming transfer market. The club could make moves, guided by Conceição's preferences. At Porto, the coach often employed a two-striker system, making it likely that Milan will need to bring in another forward to pair with Morata. All signs point to Randal Kolo Muani, the French striker from PSG. The Rossoneri management has pursued him several times in the past, and he is now completely sidelined in Luis Enrique’s squad.

The challenge lies in acting quickly, as his situation at PSG is well-known, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs as well as Juventus and Bayern Munich.

A loan move seems to be the most viable option, with negotiations revolving around his salary.

Midfield considerations

In midfield, the AC Milan club must assess Ismael Bennacer’s condition following his return from injury while continuing to monitor the Samuele Ricci situation. Initially planned as a summer target, the move could be brought forward if Torino’s president Cairo agrees. A more economical alternative is Warren Bondo from Monza.
