"Marcus Rashford? For sure. Kyle Walker? Who knows."
That is how Gazzetta dello Sport started their article on their website when discussing AC Milan's transfer market moves during this January session.

According to the website, the club managers are also looking at the defence, because the situation on the right side is precarious. However... there is a "but." In reality, the needs are, and have been, also in midfield, as evidenced by the fact that before even considering the potential feasibility of the Rashford deal, the radar at Casa Milan was primarily aimed at the midfield.
This is where Yunus Musah could be an interesting alternative to work with, where Bennacer is slowly returning to full fitness, but where Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders cannot constantly be pushed to overtime (the Cagliari goal, with the Frenchman visibly out of breath, clearly proves this).
So, what movements and prospects are there for AC Milan's heart of the field?

In recent days, there has been one name that had stayed under the radar but has seen more intense contacts. It’s the Frenchman Lucas Gourna-Douath, born in 2003, from RB Salzburg (the club from which, with RedBird as owner, Milan has already bought Noah Okafor and Strahinja Pavlovic), one of the profiles on the radar.
Aggressive, with defensive traits but not only, and very physical, Gourna-Douath could be an interesting counterpart to Fofana.
The rest of the 'shopping list' features the usual suspects: Reda Belahyane (Hellas Verona), Warren Bondo (Monza), and the more expensive Morten Frendrup (Genoa), an old favourite of the Rossoneri management.
