Just a few days before the crucial league clash against Juventus, Emerson Royal, spoke to Milan TV to preview the match against the Bianconeri:
"For me, being here is extremely important because Milan means so much to us Brazilians. When I arrived here, I immediately told myself that I needed to do an excellent job because I want to win something with this jersey, it’s incredibly important to me. I’m very happy with my first six months here. I work hard for this."

On his idol Cafu, Emerson Royal commented:
"Cafu is an idol for me. He was important here, but he was also significant for the national team. He knows so much about football. I work hard, he knows that I can attack but also defend well," as relayed via Milannews.it.
On his relationship with coach Sérgio Conceição:
"With Conceição, I’m playing in a slightly more offensive role. From the first day he arrived, he told me I could do this. He told me to release the handbrake and attack without hesitation. I’ve played like this in many places, at Betis, with the national team, and at Tottenham. I really enjoy playing offensively, and with him, I have a bit more freedom."
On Alejandro Jimenez, Emerson Royal said:
"He’s a good kid, and he has so much quality with the ball. He’s younger, but he has personality, and I really enjoy playing alongside him."
On Juventus - Milan:
"It’s like all the other matches. In Serie A, all games are tough because they’re more tactical and more aggressive. For us, it’s important to win it. We’re doing well, we’re growing, and we need to stay focused in every moment of the match. It’s fundamental for us. We’re in a good place, and we need to keep going this way."
